As you probably know we spend a lot of time posting things on LinkedIn; posting videos and blogs, education materials for our clients. Our goal here, of course, is to get the word out about Palisade and how we do that is by educating our clients on issues we see in the market and how Oracle is treating their customers. We’ve gone back and done a little research to see who is actually reading and watching our videos. The amazing thing we found out is the #1 consumer of Palisade’s education material on LinkedIn is actually Oracle! That’s right. We went back in and looked at the last several videos and blog posts that we posted and as you can see here Oracle is always number one.
Whether we’re talking about Oracle contracts or just talking about the industry, IT asset management, or Palisade, Oracle is constantly looking at what we’re doing. I thought that was really interesting because, you know, when we get into an engagement and Oracle knows we’re there, they’re often telling their customers that, you know, they don’t have to listen to Palisade and Palisade’s giving them the wrong advice and you need to do things the Oracle way. I just find it kind of ironic that on the one hand Oracle sales reps are telling their customers one thing and on the other hand they’re consuming our education materials.
The other thing as we dig a little deeper into who’s consuming our videos and blogs is that the #2 and #3 consumer of these videos are often Oracle competitors. You know, folks like Microsoft and AWS are reading our materials. I think that’s fantastic because it just shows the independence and the impartiality of the things that we post and we talk about. Where we can have, you know, the top consumer be Oracle itself and number 2 and 3 and 4 are usually Oracle competitors.
Wherever you fall on the spectrum of wanting to buy more Oracle or trying to move away from Oracle, I guess we’re finding, or the market is finding, that our material is helpful. So at Palisade, we’re going to continue to post material. We’re going to continue to educate the market on what we see and hopefully folks will continue to this material valuable.
